millau La Graufesenque
history & heritage
Under the Gallo-Roman Empire, Millau was then called "Condatomagos". The city was known for its sigillated ceramic pottery.
Many vestiges of this fame have been found. The excavations brought to light a tiny part of the ancient site which was estimated at 20 hectares.
The Graufesenque site offers guided or free tours of these remains as well as educational workshops on certain dates.
