The village of Compeyre: perched village
Perched on the heights, the village of Compeyre has a rich history that begins in the 1st century AD. Then being part of the county of Millau, its strategic position between the roads of the Tarn valley and those of the valley of the Lumensonesque earned him the rank of royal city and the right of command over these roads. Facing south, many vineyards dotted the slopes of the city. We counted to 80 cellars wine in the city. Compeyre held the monopoly of wine in the Tarn valley throughout the Middle Ages.
This prosperity ended with the religious wars in Rouergue. The King of France ordered the town to be razed in the early 17th century.
If the city had a church, a communal oven, a common well, a hospital, a prison... all that remains of these vestiges today are a few sections of the fortress wall.

La Maison du Vigneron: from 7 to 15 people
There winegrower's house takes its name from its past and its cellar where you can still find the press and the fleurines. This old village house was restored in 2017 by the former owners who knew how to preserve all the cachet and authenticity of the place: old stones, exposed beams and vestiges of its function.
His 7 spacious bedrooms now welcome tourists wishing to discover the region of south Aveyron and his exuberant nature. There terrace still dominates the valley for the pleasure of the eyes.
There winegrower's house was classified furnished tourist accommodation in 2023.
